Chevrolet’s entry-level Aveo sedan doesn’t earn its relative success by excelling at anything. No, it uses a combination of average performance, economy and value and attaches a low, low price tag to it. The Aveo sedan uses a 108-hp 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, with either a five-speed manual or optional four-speed automatic. Acceleration is relaxed but gruff, and handling is predictable. After its mid-cycle updates a couple years ago, the Aveo’s interior is better than it could be. New for 2010 is a Team Canada edition that adds a sporty body kit, leather-wrapped steering wheel and upgraded stereo.
